- The Board uses a layered suite of technologies to ensure that your communications with us are safe and protected. In addition to this computer security system, the Board has implemented procedures to prevent security breaches.
- Encryption ensures that information in transit between your computer and our server cannot be read (privacy and confidentiality) or changed (integrity); consequently, all data is transported using encrypted channels, to provide security.
- The eDocuments Portal was designed to secure documents at the Protected B level. If your document is protected at a higher level, do not upload it to the portal. Instead, please contact the Board by email at edocsportal.portaildoc@fpslreb-crtespf.gc.ca or by phone at (613) 990-2008.
- When you use the eDocuments Portal, the integrity of any information you communicate, as well as your registered profile, is guaranteed.
- Even though we go to great lengths to secure your transactions with us, you should also take precautions to maximize your protection. For example, you should regularly apply commercially available patches and updates to your browser and operating system. You should also protect your computer with commercially available and up-to-date antivirus and firewall software.
- Information uploaded to the eDocuments Portal is processed, encrypted, and stored in on-premises servers located in Canada.
Information Collection and Management
- Site-usage statistics are collected and analyzed only for site-management purposes. The statistics are strictly used to monitor system performance and to identify problems.
- Information collected is protected, and access to it is restricted.
Network Traffic Monitoring
- Network traffic is monitored for website security purposes only to ensure that our services remain available to all users.
- Monitoring is done to identify unauthorized attempts to upload or change information, or to otherwise cause damage.
- While monitoring, we will receive and log information, such as the IP address of the computer that reaches our website, the date and time, and the portal pages visited.
- No attempts will be made to link these addresses with the identity of anyone visiting our site, unless an attempt to damage the site has been detected. In such cases, logs will be used only to identify individual users for authorized law enforcement investigations or national security purposes.
- The logs are used for no other purposes and are scheduled for regular destruction, in accordance with the Library and Archives of Canada Act and the Privacy Act.
- The portal uses cookies only to identify your online presence. We do not use cookies to capture any additional information to personally identify you or for any other purpose.
